Welcome to SHREDMODE
There are a thousand ways to get fit; none of them are wrong or right. Ultimately you have to figure out what works best for you. I will give you a starting point and teach you the rules so that over time you can find that for yourself. The name of the game is consistency. I don’t care how many 6-week transformation posts there are out there; if you can’t find a lifestyle that you can be consistent with long-term you will neither be happy nor shredded. The lifestyle that I promote here is meant to be efficient and balanced. Why spend 3 hours at the gym when 45 minutes will do? Why count every calorie and track every macro if just focusing on food choices and meal timing will get you the same results. This isn’t about following a meal plan or training for a bodybuilding competition. This is about developing a lifestyle you enjoy that will eventually lead you to your goals. Good luck and happy shredding!
What is Shredded?
Shredded is having a lean muscular body that is healthy and makes you happy. Shredmode is the sustainable lifestyle designed to help you reach your shred goals. It is not a crash diet or a “cleanse,” it’s a way for people to find balance between their social lives, work schedules, family and health.
How to burn clean
We need lots of protein, some fats and not many carbs. When fat loss is the goal, remember that carbs and fats are fuel sources; the more you eat, the less your body has to burn. And, if you don’t eat enough protein you’ll be starving all the time and crave carbs (a low protein high carb high fat diet is not a shredded diet). IF muscle gain and/or sports performance is your goal, surprise surprise protein is still most important! But now we can afford more fuel (carbs and fats) still optimally timed before and after the activity.
How build strong
If the diet is responsible for making you leaner, the workouts are responsible for shaping what lies beneath the fat. I tell my clients when we are in the gym we are there to build things: build strength, build muscle, build endurance, build mobility etc. We are not there to lose anything; you can’t sweat out your fat. You want to build muscle? Hit the gym. You want to lose fat? Go to the kitchen and make a pile of meat and veggies.
